The upcoming Google Pixel 9 series is said to revolutionise connectivity with the introduction of emergency satellite connectivity alongside a cutting-edge modem, the media has reported. This strategic move comes in response to the modem issues encountered by Pixel users following the transition to Tensor chips in 2021, as highlighted in a comprehensive report by Android Authority.

Traditionally, Pixel devices have grappled with modem-related challenges, particularly following Google's adoption of Tensor chips in collaboration with Samsung. While the Google Pixel 8 series witnessed enhancements with the integration of the Exynos Modem 5300, certain issues persisted, casting a shadow over the experiences of Pixel 7 and 8 users, despite the efforts made through the March 2024 update, as outlined in the report.

This advancement reflects Google's commitment to incorporating satellite-based messaging, enabling users to send emergency texts using the "Satellite Gateway" app.

While initially slated for availability through mobile carrier T-Mobile, other service providers may adopt this functionality in the coming time. Notably, emergency satellite texting on the Pixel 9 will mirror Apple's Emergency SOS feature, offering a seamless process for users. Responding to prompts will assist emergency services in promptly evaluating and responding to the situation. This feature is designed to accelerate communication during emergencies by offering predefined responses to critical inquiries.

Google Pixel 9 Lineup May Come In 3 Sizes

According to the leaked renders, each of the three Pixe 9 models will feature distinct screen sizes:

- Pixel 9 Pro XL: 6.5-inch display
- Pixel 9 Pro: 6.1-inch display
- Pixel 9: 6.03-inch display

As per a previous 91mobiles report, a total of four 5K renders and a 360-degree video showcase the vanilla Pixel 9, offering a comprehensive view of Google's upcoming flagship.

The design closely resembles that of the Pixel 9 Pro, featuring a compact body and a prominent rear camera module. However, unlike the Pro model's triple-camera setup, the Pixel 9 opts for a dual-camera configuration. Fans can expect rounded corners and a flat display with a centered punch-hole selfie camera.

The power button and volume keys on the Pixel 9 are positioned along the right side of the flat frame. With a 6.03-inch display, the Pixel 9 is slightly smaller than the Pixel 9 Pro's 6.1-inch screen. According to famed leakster OnLeaks, the Pixel 9 measures approximately 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5mm, extending to 12mm with the rear camera bump.

Furthermore, the Pixel 9 showcased in the leak comes in Black colour, akin to the Pixel 9 Pro XL. It's likely that Google introduces the Pixel 9 in additional colour variants. The design shift with the Pixel 9 series seems to align with design aesthetics reminiscent of the Apple iPhone 15 and the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.
