While official details remain sparse, leaks and rumours have provided a clearer picture of what to expect. If the rumour mill is to be believed, the Pixel 9 series is anticipated to come in four new colours: dark grey, light grey, off-white, and pink. Note that the official names of the colourways will be different. The leaks suggest that the devices will feature a glossy frame and a matte back panel.

As per tradition, the Pro models are expected to sport three lenses (standard, ultrawide, and zoom), while the standard Pixel 9 will have two (standard and ultrawide). The camera island on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is described as a rectangle with rounded corners, while the non-foldable Pixel 9 will feature an oblong-shaped camera island.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Specifications (Expected)

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold marks Google's second foray into foldable devices and the first to be released in India. This new foldable phone is expected to boast an 8-inch inner display, a significant upgrade from the 7.4-inch display of its predecessor.

The display will likely feature a resolution of 2,152 x 2,076 pixels, peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and support for a 120Hz refresh rate, addressing the previous model's lower brightness of 1,000 nits.

Rumours also suggest a design upgrade for the front camera, with a punch-hole camera on the left side of the screen, replacing the bezel-mounted camera of the previous model, enabled by reduced bezel size.

Focus On Gemini AI

Google has emphasised that the new devices will leverage its Gemini AI capabilities. Additionally, the Pixel 9 series will include several AI-driven features, including crowd favourites like Circle to Search and Magic Eraser. Users can look forward to seven years of security updates and exclusive software updates known as Pixel Drops. There will also be an interesting Add Me feature to inset yourself into group photos, even if you are the one clicking the photo.

One notable feature is Pixel Screenshots, which allow users to save and later recall important information such as events and places.

The Pixel 9 series will also include an Emergency SOS feature designed to alert users about nearby crises like fires or floods and protect against malware and phishing scams.
