Google Pixel 8a is expected to be unveiled before the world next month during Google's annual event, the Google I/O 2024 event. The details of the smartphone have been leaked numerous times over the past few weeks. The upcoming device has been spotted online as well, and it looks like consumers will have to pay a tad bit more than expected to purchase Google's most affordable Pixel 8-series smartphone this year. Notably, this successor to last year's Pixel 7a is also expected to feature some AI-related (artificial intelligence) features.

Google is expected to include its Tensor G3 chip in the Pixel 8a, the same chip found in the more premium Pixel 8 models, allowing for advanced AI capabilities. However, it remains uncertain if the Pixel 8a will match the same level of compatibility as its pricier counterparts. The phone may feature a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals. Like its predecessor, the Pixel 8a is anticipated to support both 5G and 4G LTE networks.
The upcoming Pixel 8a is rumored to sport a dual-camera system, consisting of a 64-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Its dimensions are expected to be similar to the Pixel 7a, measuring 153.44 x 72.74 x 8.94mm. Additionally, the Pixel 8a may come with an IP rating for dust and water resistance, along with support for wireless charging.
