A Google Pay error has given way to the service sending cashback rewards to random Pixel smartphone users, the media has reported. It is being said that the reason why Google sent these accidental credits to some Google Pixel users. According to some Reddit users, unexpected credits were sent to Google Pay accounts of several Google Pixel users with some accounts receiving as much as $1,072 (or roughly Rs 88,000).
As per /r/GooglePixel subreddit, they were notified that they were receiving the money for 'dogfooding the Google Pay remittance experience'.
It is not clear how many Pixel device users have received these accidental credits from Google Pay, but most are getting a modest cashback reward.
A Twitter thread by Mishaal Rahman, a freelance tech journalist shows that these accidental cashback rewards were given to Pixel users in the US on the Google Pay app, under the Rewards section in the Deals tab.
Meanwhile, Adding a new ability for Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro users, Google started rolling out a feature last week that will let enable speaker separation for meetings on Google Meet. Once turned on, the feature will let the user hear the audio of other participants from different directions based on their position on the screen, thus, making it easier to distinguish different speakers and hear where they’re coming from for a more immersive, dynamic experience, the company has announced.
Google, in a blog post, has provided a screenshot, which seems to be taken from the Google Meet app, and the settings page has a few changes, such as the new “Audio” and “Video” section headers. However, a report in 9to5Google mentioned that the Google Meet speaker separation was not spotted on several Pixel 7 devices that were checked by the publication. It is likely that the tech giant rolls out the capability in the coming weeks globally.
It is not yet clear if the feature will become available for older Pixel models or other Android devices.
