As the new Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max continue to be higher in demand than last year's iPhone 13 Pro lineup in China, Apple's contract manufacturer Foxconn has dismantled parts of its production lines for the standard iPhone 14 models and updated them to iPhone 14 Pro production lines.

Soon after the launch of Apple's new iPhone lineup in China, the iPhone 14 Pro models seem to be in high demand, but the non-Pro models are facing lukewarm sales amid mounting economic headwinds in the country, says a report by South China Morning Post.

iPhone maker Foxconn is said to have dismantled parts of its production lines for standard iPhone 14 models in China, the report added quoting Chinese state-owned media outlet China Securities Journal.

The demand for iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models are in hot demand globally too due to which the standard iPhone 14 model has a shorter delivery time as compared to the delivery time of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro devices, according to a report by AppleInsider which cited data by Apple Product Availability Tracker by JP Morgan.

The AppleInsider report also noted that demand is higher for the iPhone 14 Pro models, but the demand for non-Pro iPhone 14 versions is weaker than for the iPhone 13 and mini.

Meanwhile, the production of Apple's newest iPhone 14 has started at a Foxconn plant near Chennai as the global tech titan bets big on the manufacturing prowess of the world's second-biggest smartphone market after China. Apple is said to start delivering made-in-India iPhones to local customers soon.

The iPhone 14 will be shipped from Foxconn's Sriperumbudur facility on the outskirts of Chennai. Foxconn is the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer and major iPhone assembler.

The iPhone 14 was launched on September 7, 2022, and is available to customers in India simultaneously with the US, among other markets, since September 16, 2022. The tech giant has a long-standing history in India that started more than 20 years ago. Apple launched its online store in the country in September 2020 and is set to deepen its commitment with the upcoming launch of Apple retail store.
