The Fitbit Charge 5 is getting a much-awaited and useful feature that would help users find their smartphone with the help of the activity tracker. The Fitbit Charge 5 is getting the "Find Phone" capability that makes the fitness tracker as useful as Fitbit's line of smartwatches that exclusively had this feature.
The Charge 5 is getting updated to version 1.171.50 from 1.149.11 and it perhaps only brings “Find Phone” feature as the biggest update, according to a report by 9to5Google. As mentioned, this feature was exclusively available for the Fitbit Sense, the Fitbit Versa and a few other Fitbit smartwatches. It is also likely that the Google-owned wearables maker has rolled out bug fixes with the update version 1.171.590, but these changes have not been made available on Fitbit's support page.
Meanwhile, earlier in June, Fitbit starred rolling out a new feature for Fitbit Premium users called Sleep Profile. Through the feature, the now Google-owned company let its users analyse the longitudinal patterns of their sleep through the Sleep Profile feature that will make it possible to interpret with animal characters. Please note that the Sleep Profile is available only for Fitbit Premium users.
The new Sleep Profile by Fitbit is pretty similar to Samsung's Sleep Coaching feature that also uses a specific animal character to symbolise users' sleeping patterns. Samsung had announced the Sleep Coaching feature for Galaxy Watch 4 users earlier in February.
"To date, we’ve analysed 22 billion hours of sleep data, equivalent to the lifespan of over 5,000 tortoises. (Fun facts: a tortoise lives for up to 500 years and there are 60,000 giant tortoises in the world.)," the Fitbit Team had written in a blog post.
