Carl Pei, the former co-founder of OnePlus, who founded London-based consumer tech firm Nothing has reviewed the newly launched OnePlus 11 5G. Earlier, he had reviewed the iPhone launched last fall and now, he has reviewed the latest OnePlus 11 from the company he had co-founded with Pete Lau in 2013.


In a 12-minute long video, Pei reviews the new OnePlus 11. He is seen talking about the hardware and software of the OnePlus 11. Mentioning the good things about the OnePlus flagship, Pei calls the device “beautiful” and talks about the details of its design that most buyers might look over. He also talks about the subtle textures of the camera module and how the edges of the phone make it appear to be thinner than it is in reality. Pei also adds that he is impressed with the overall premium feel of the phone.

When it comes to the software of the OnePlus 11, Pei gets critical. He mentions that he is clueless about why OnePlus would take something that worked and mess with it. He also mentions the problems with the usability of the software and opening the app drawer that has been designed with Chinese characters in mind.

The Nothing founder also says that while OnePlus 11 is a great phone but it has “no real identity.”

Handset maker OnePlus on Tuesday unveiled its flagship OnePlus 11 5G smartphone alongside the OnePlus 11R in India last week. The company also launched the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 with Google's signature spatial audio, the OnePlus Pad, OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro and the OnePlus Featuring 81 Pro keyboard. The launch of the flagship OnePlus 11 comes days after Samsung launched its iPhone rivalling flagship Galaxy S23 series with customised top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and better cameras.


In India, the OnePlus 11 5G went on sale on February 14 across OnePlus.in, OnePlus Store App, OnePlus Experience Stores and Amazon.in. The device will retail at Rs 56,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant and Rs 61,999 for the 16GB/256GB variant. Pre-orders have started on OnePlus.in, OnePlus Store App, and Amazon.in.

The OnePlus 11 5G is said to take only 25 minutes to charge from 1 per cent to 100 per cent, courtesy of the 100W SUPERVOOC fast-charging technology. The phone has certifications including TÜV SÜD 48-month Fluency Rating A, TÜV SÜD Precise Touching S Rating, SGS Perceived Fluency A+ and TÜV Rheinland. The OnePlus 11 5G is also the first OnePlus device that will receive four major OxygenOS updates and five years of security updates.
