According to a new leak, the Asus ROG Phone 7 Pro, a top-variant gaming smartphone from the house of Taiwanese electronics major Asus, is likely to be officially unveiled globally on April 13. Official-looking design renders of the Asus ROG Phone 7 Pro have leaked online, courtesy of famed tipster Evan Blass, which suggests the phone may come with ‘Active Aero’ external cooling module.

The Asus ROG Phone 7 is also expected to be launched on the same day.

In terms of the overall design language of the Asus ROG Phone 7 Pro, it looks exactly the same as its predecessor ROG Phone 6 Pro. In fact, the ROG Phone 6 Pro's predecessor also looked similar. The ROG Phone 7 Pro has a front camera which is placed on the top-left corner of the display. Even as the bezels on the sides are slim, the top bezels are thick in order to house the stereo speakers.

Other expected features of the Asus ROG Phone 7 pro include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset clocked at 3.19GHz paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory. The panel may be a 6.78-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 165Hz and 720Hz touch sampling rate, which is exactly the same as its predecessor. The camera may be equipped with a Sony IMX766 50MP primary image sensor on the main camera, along with a 13MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP macro sensor.

The expected price of the ROG Phone 7 Pro may be Rs 74,990, suggest some reports, but this information should be taken with a pinch of salt. The India smartphone market doesn't see a lot of dedicated gaming smartphone launches. Some of the models the Asus ROG 7 Pro would compete with the likes of the Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro.

To recall, the Asus ROG Phone 6 was unveiled in India in July last year alongside the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro. The ROG Phone 6 was priced in India at Rs 71,999 for the lone 12GB/256GB model while the ROG Phone 6 Pro was unveiled for Rs 89,999 for the 18GB/512GB model. Both the gaming phones were powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
