New Delhi: In order to cater to growing demand, Apple is planning to increase the production of last year's iPhone 13 Pro models by 10 million units, the media has reported. Earlier this year, the tech giant had increased production orders by one million units for the iPhone 13 Pro and 3.5 million units for the iPhone 13 Pro Max models.

Apple is rumored to expand its production plan for the iPhone 13 in the second quarter of 2022. Among them, the production of high-end models of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max is planned to increase by about 10 million units, and relevant Apple supply chain players are expected to benefit, said a report by Macrumors that quoted Taiwanese publication DigiTimes.

The report further adds that the situation with Apple’s supply chain which was previously struggling to meet demand due to Covid-19-induced lockdowns and restrictions in China is improving.

The Cupertino, California-headquartered company is slated to announce its second-quarter earnings this Thursday and will also highlight how well it is equipped to deal with supply chain constraints and component shortages.

Meanwhile, the company is likely to unveil the iPhone 14 line this fall and leaks and rumours and the latest leaked image of metal molds of the purported iPhone 14 series suggests that the company may be doing away with the mini variant this year. The new image shows metal molds in only 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes, thus, suggesting that the iPhone 13 mini was the last mini model in the iPhone lineup.

The image has surfaced on Weibo, and pretty much confirms previous rumours that the iPhone 14 series will come in only two sizes. The image leaked earlier last week and shows that Apple will continue with the tradition of adding three sensors at the rear, in the iPhone 14 Pro models. The upcoming iPhone 14 line will, however, not come with periscope cameras, but is likely to feature an upgraded main camera with a 48MP sensor. According to famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, only the iPhone 14 Pro models will get the new sensor.
