Apple is reportedly planning to launch a new version of the Mac Mini, which is going to be powered by M4 chip that focuses on AI power. According to a Bloomberg report, the upcoming desktop computer will be the smallest one till now and it will feature a major design change since 2010. The report added that the upcoming Mac Mini will be notably more compact than its predecessor.

The Bloomberg report stated that this is going to be the first time when Apple will use the same chip generation for all Macs. The M4 chip will arrive in October this year and it has been designed to support AI features.

Apple Mac Mini 2024 Details (Expected)

The existing Mac Mini has been priced at $599. The upcoming version is said to be more cost-effective, but it is still unclear whether Apple will reduce the price for its consumers or will it maintain the current pricing structure.

The upcoming Mac Mini is going to be powered by the M4 chipset. The company is dedicated to making its devices even more compact, but the Bloomberg report stated that even though the upcoming Mac is going to be the smallest, it will still be taller than the current version, which is 1.4 inches high.

The upcoming Mac Mini is expected to feature an aluminium shell, with reports suggesting that it’s essentially an iPad Pro in a compact form factor. This design leverages the energy efficiency of Apple’s in-house silicon.

Apple has a lineup of new Macs scheduled for release in the coming months, starting with the refreshed Mac Mini. Following that, iMacs and MacBook Pros powered by the M4 chip will debut later this year, with MacBook Airs arriving in the spring and revamped Mac Pro and Mac Studio models set for mid-2025, continuing the company's hardware refresh cycle.

This news has generated excitement among users. While Apple products in India are known for their premium pricing, it will be interesting to see if the new Mac Mini bucks that trend. The launch may coincide with the highly anticipated iPhone 16 series and iOS 18 release.
