Apple is all set to launch the next wave of its advanced AI-driven features, branded as Apple Intelligence, with the iOS 18.2 update in India. This update promises a variety of new tools and enhancements designed to boost creativity, functionality, and user experience across compatible iPhones. Marking the second major AI-focused release under iOS 18, the update aims to further refine the intelligent capabilities of Apple devices.

While Apple has yet to officially announce a release date, reports suggest that iOS 18.2 could be rolled out as early as this week, potentially between December 10 and 11. The update will be accessible to all devices supporting iOS 18, with notable compatibility for models like the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

iOS 18.2 Update: Compatible Devices

The iOS 18.2 update is designed to support a broad spectrum of iPhone models, catering to both the latest releases and older devices. Compatible models include the entire iPhone 16 series—comprising the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max—along with the iPhone 15 lineup, which features the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max. 

In addition, users of the iPhone 14 series (iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max) and the iPhone 13 series (iPhone 13 mini, 13, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max) can also take advantage of this update. The iOS 18.2 compatibility further extends to earlier models, including the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max, as well as the iPhone 11 series (iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max). Even older devices like the iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, and the 2nd and 3rd generation iPhone SE are included in the eligibility list.

iOS 18.2 Update: Which Features Will Make Way To Your iPhones?

The latest update introduces an array of eagerly anticipated AI-driven features for iPhone users, including Genmoji, Image Playground, and the integration of ChatGPT into Siri. Additionally, enhancements to native apps like Mail and Photos aim to streamline everyday tasks and improve overall performance for a smoother user experience.

A new setting will allow users to customize the double-click speed for Camera Control, with options like "Default," "Slow," and "Slower." Another handy addition lets iPhone users generate a shareable link to pinpoint the location of a misplaced AirTag. Meanwhile, the Photos app is set to receive upgrades, such as frame scrubbing for videos, making it easier to navigate and edit video content.

  • Click on Software Update to check for available updates
