New Delhi: Amazon Echo Buds 2nd Gen were on Thursday launched in India, almost a year after their global debut. The Amazon Echo Buds 2nd Ge were launched in the western markets in April 2021 with active noise cancellation (ANC) and a design upgrade. The Amazon Echo Buds are available for Rs 13,999 for the wireless charging case option and Rs 11,999 for the USB-C wired charging option in the country.

"We are glad to add an on-the-go device in the Echo range and eager to learn from our customers' experience as they take Alexa with them. With the Echo Buds, customers can use Alexa through-out their day, whether at home, walking in the neighborhood or commuting to work," Parag Gupta, Country Manager, Amazon Devices India, said in a statement.

The Amazon Echo Buds 2nd Gen are more comfortable and as compared to the previous-gen Echo Buds, these are 20 per cent smaller. They feature “a high-performance driver” in each earcup, delivering balanced sound with low distortion and extended dynamic range. The Amazon Echo Buds 2nd Gen also come with Active Noise Cancellation that according to the e-commerce giant, can cancel twice as much noise when compared to the previous-gen model. The ANC feature can be activated by pressing and holding the earbud or via the assistant by saying: “Alexa, turn on noise cancellation.”

With Passthrough Mode on, you can easily adjust the amount of ambient sound you hear through the device settings in the Alexa app. The all-new Echo Buds are small, lightweight, IPX4-rated to withstand splashes, sweat, or light rain, and designed for maximum comfort, according to the company. The Amazon Echo Buds 2nd Gen offer up to five hours of music playback on a single charge with Active Noise Cancellation and Alexa wake word on, and the compact case provides two additional charges for a total of up to 15 hours of music playback, the company claimed.

Given the price tag, the Amazon Echo Buds 2nd Gen will compete against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, OnePlus Buds Pro, and Sony WF-1000XM3, among others.
