New Delhi: Hours after technology conglomerate Google and micro-blogging platform Koo submitted their first compliance reports under India's new IT rules, social media giant Facebook too released its first monthly report in compliance with the new law.
In its report, Facebook said that it conducted proactive monitoring through AI and highlighted that action rate of over 95 percent was observed across most content categories on its platform.
Even Instagram, owned by Facebook, has adopted a proactive monitoring mechanism and an action rate of over 80 percent was recorded in a span of one month.
Categories monitored by Facebook include adult nudity, hate speech, terrorist propaganda, suicide and self-injury, violent & graphic content, drugs & spam, among others. Instagram too, has proactive monitoring for most content, barring spam.
While sharing the first monthly compliance report, Facebook said that its picture-sharing platform Instagram is working on methods to identify and block spam proactively.
Facebook also said that it will release another set of compliance reports on July 15 which will contain details of user complaints received and the action taken thereof.
However, it is worth noting that both Facebook and Instagram still have low proactive monitoring rates for bullying and harassment content.
While Facebook reports an action taken rate of 37 percent on bullying and harassment content, Instagram has action taken rate of 43 percent.
