Twitter CEO, Elon Musk on Tuesday came up with an announcement stating that ‘Twitter Files’ will be published soon which will reveal the company’s internal files on suspension of free speech on the microblogging site. “The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself,” Musk tweeted, adding “the public deserves to know what really happened.”

Musk’s tweet comes days after a Twitter user demanded him to make public on the platform the internal details about a report by New York Post on US President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 US Presidential elections.

"Raise your hand if you think @ElonMusk should make public all internal discussions about the decision to censor the @NYPost's story on Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 Election in the interest of Transparency,” the Twitter user had posted.

Shortly after, Musk responded to the tweet saying “This is necessary to restore public trust.”

As per the New York Post report, Hunter Biden had dropped off his laptop at a repair shop in Biden’s home state of Delaware in April 2019. The shop owner claimed that the customer did not pay for the repair service or retrieve its content.

The report further stated that the shop owner gave the hard disk to Donald Trump’s lawyer who accessed emails in the device which hinted towards alleged corruption by Joe Biden regarding Ukraine during his term as the US Vice-President.

Musk has been advocating “transparency” ever since he bought the company for $44 million.
