Elon Musk has finally revealed the release date for the Grok 2 AI chatbot based on artificial general intelligence (AGI). As per Musk, the will be launched in August 2024. The new Grok versions by xAI will be bundled with advanced AI features including long context and understanding and advanced reasoning. It also has enhanced performance on benchmarks like MATH and HumanEval. If all this is not enough for you then Grok 3 AI chatbot is likely to be released by the end of this year which will be an even better version than the upcoming Grok 2.
X Daily News tweeted, "Grok 2 is planned to release in August. The aim is to remove content from other LLMs found on the internet. Grok 3, which will have been trained with much larger compute, is pencilled in for an end of year release."
According to Musk, training AI chatbots requires datasets and a lot of work is done on purging large language model (LMM) from the data that is available. He also talked about several issues with training on the model outputs of OpenAI, and large improvement on the datasets for the upcoming Grok version. He said, “Sadly quite true. It takes a lot of work to purge LLMs from the Internet training data. Grok 2, which comes out in August, will be a giant improvement in this regard.”
Elon Musk announced that Grok 3 is anticipated to launch by year-end following training on 100,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs. Furthermore, Grok 3 is poised to exceed existing AI benchmarks, promising to inspire AI enthusiasts globally.
