In a rather hilarious turn of events, a viral deepfake video has surfaced on social media, revealing a surprising collaboration between Presidential election rivals Donald Trump and Joe Biden as they showcase their salsa dancing skills. Digital creator Yurii Yaltsov posted the deepfake video on Instagram, which he created using AI platforms like Warpfusion and Controlnet.


The AI-created deepfake footage captures a seemingly unbreakable bond between the political rivals, who, despite their differences, engage in a dance that rivals that of professional dancers. Yaltsov's Instagram post, where he initially shared the creation, drew praise for its concept and execution.

At the time of writing, the video had already garnered over 1.8 million views on the Meta-owned platform.

Notably, the deepfake video portrays both leaders in a different light, presenting them in macho avatars that may remind viewers of Latin dancers, contrary to the trolling they often receive for their advancing age.

The 21-second clip features a Latin song as the background score, showcasing seamless transitions without any discernible jitters or pixel-related issues. This underscores the advancements in AI-led technologies, with experts speculating that such technology may play a significant role in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.


Back in November 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised concerns about the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) in the creation of deceptive 'deepfake' content. Speaking at the BJP's Diwali Milan event at the party's New Delhi headquarters, PM Modi emphasised the need for media to play a crucial role in educating the public about the potential crisis associated with deepfakes, as reported by the Hindustan Times.


During his address, the prime minister reaffirmed his commitment to transforming India into a 'Viksit Bharat' (which translates to developed India), emphasising that this vision is not merely rhetoric but a tangible reality. PM Modi also highlighted the widespread support for the 'vocal for local' initiative and underscored that India's accomplishments during the COVID-19 pandemic instilled confidence that the nation would continue progressing.
