New Delhi: Amid unrest in Karnataka due to the ongoing hijab row, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan on Wednesday sharing his views on the issue said, "What is happening in neighbouring Karnataka shouldn't happen in Tamil Nadu". Also, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday said that the hijab issue in Karnataka is a deliberate attempt to polarise votes, according to ANI news agency.
Kamal Haasan took to his Twitter handle about the hijab row, said, "What is happening in Ktaka is provoking unrest. In the pure hearts of students, a poisonous religious wall is being erected. What is happening in the neighbouring state should not happen in TN. It's time for progressive forces to stay alert."

Besides Kamal Haasan, senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament Mallikarjun Kharge also shared his views on the ongoing hijab issue in Karnataka. According to ANI news agency he said, "Hijab issue in Karnataka is being done for a deliberate polarization of votes & to instigate fights b/w Hindu-Muslim... as political parties are behind it, directly or indirectly. If someone doesn't work as per discipline, grants should be cancelled."
The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday was adjourned after hearing the case for almost three hours. The court would continue hearing arguments on Wednesday from 2.30 PM. Karnataka CM on Tuesday has ordered the closure of schools and colleges amid the unrest due to the issue in the state.
