Chennai: Incessant rains On Thursday continued to batter Chennai as the depression moved closer to the coast. Despite taking many precautions ahead of the landfall of the cyclone, the rains have reportedly caused a wreckage-like situation in the city. In such a tough weather condition, Udaya, a cemetery worker has been lying unconscious at the TP Chatram Cemetery. A woman police officer stepped in for his rescue.


In a viral video that is making rounds on social media, woman police officer Rajeshwari is seen carrying the cemetery worker, who was lying unconscious, on her shoulder at least for 100 metres. With the help of the residents, she called an auto-rickshaw and sent him to the nearest hospital for treatment.






Udaya, who has been suffering from poor health for the past few days, have reached the cemetery but due to the onset of continuous rains his health got further deteriorated. Eventually, he fell unconscious near a grave at Kilpauk graveyard. Taking note of the issue, the residents of the colony informed this at the nearby police station. Knowing this, inspector Rajeshwari rushed to the spot and with the help of others cleared the branches and trees around Udaya to rescue him.


Despite the trees felling due to heavy rains and streets being submerged in water, inspector Rajeshwari put her strongest foot forward to help the cemetery worker. After these heroics, the inspector has been hailed as 'Lady Singham' for her decisiveness and gritty nature.
