Chennai: Police arrested a DMK Councillor's brother-in-law and his aide for creating a ruckus at an eatery after the owners refused to provide bribe in Pallavaram on Tuesday.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, Shankar Nagar police arrested the accused identified as Sugumar (36) and Dinesh (38) of Ranga Nagar in Thiruneermalai.
On Monday, Shankar Nagar police received information that two men were creating a ruckus at an eatery by pushing down plates served with food and threatening to attack the shop owners if they refused to provide money.

Based on the information, the police reached the spot but even before the arrival of the cops the two men fled the place.
The police then retrieved the CCTV footage of the shop. The CCTV footage revealed that the two members demanded bribes from a tea shop and a biryani shop in Thiruneermalai. When the shopkeepers refused to provide bribes, the two members pushed down the plates served with food and they refused to stop the act even after the intervention of the hotel staff.
Using the footage, the police identified the two accused as Sugumar and Dinesh

Dinesh is the brother-in-law of Tambaram Corporation DMK Councillor Chitradevi. The other arrested person Sugumar was a history-sheeter with many cases including murder and an attempt to murder pending against him in Chennai.
The arrested persons were produced before a judicial magistrate and lodged in prison.
