Chennai: Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the new Vande Bharat train at Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai on Friday. After the inspection, the Minister said,  soon Vande Bharat Express trains would be rolled out across the country.


According to a report on The Hindu, the Minister said, around 75 Vande Bharat Express trains would be rolled out from the factory and after testing them for 15,000 kms for technical and operative functionalities the trains would link all parts of the country.


"I am happy that the Vande Bharat train has been manufactured by ICF in less time and in good quality. It is a world-class train. it will be a new experience for the passengers traveling on this train," he said, as per ANI.

He also said that more such trains would be manufactured from ICF. 


The Minister also congratulated the ICF team for making the trains.

ICF General Manager AK Agarwal and SR General Manager BG Mallya accompanied the Minister during the visit at ICF in Chennai.

Meanwhile, the Minister later attended ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ event at Thiruvallikeni railway station. The event portrayed the railway station's history and its link with freedom fighter Subramania Bharati. The Minister also spoke about the role of Bharati in the freedom struggle.
