Chennai: A woman trainee from Tamil Nadu died in a trainee aircraft crash in a private aviation academy at Pedavoora Mandal in Nalgonda district on Saturday. The deceased trainee pilot was identified as Mahima. 


According to ABP Nadu, Mahima was receiving training as a pilot at Flytech Aviation Academy in Macherla of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh.


On Saturday, Mahima took off in Cessna trainee aircraft in the morning from the aviation academy. However, within minutes, her aircraft crashed in Thungathurthy village of Pedavoora Mandal in Nalgonda district.

The farmers who were working on a farmland near the crash site at Tungathurthi village of Peddavoora Mandal witnessed the aircraft crashing on the ground. They immediately rushed to douse the fire and rescue the pilot. 


Based on the information, health and revenue officials also rushed to the spot for carrying out rescue works.

However, the trainee pilot died on the spot. Her remains were sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem. The crash also took place in a barren land so the people in the vicinity escaped from the crash. 


The academy is also conducting investigations to find out the reason for the crash. 


Some reports suggest that the aircraft reportedly hit an electric pole. However, the Aviation Academy has not confirmed the reason yet. 


Even in January, an aircraft used for army training crashed in Bihar's Gaya with two trainee pilots. However, the pilots escaped with injuries.
