Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP functionary CTR Nirmal Kumar filed a complaint against DMK MP A Raja with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for his alleged "hate speech" against Hindus. In the complaint, Kumar also requested the Speaker to refrain A Raja from contesting any elections in the future.


In a tweet, state president IT and social media CTR Nirmal Kumar along with the copy of the complaint said, “Complaint filed as affidavit against @dmk_raja before honorable @loksabhaspeaker under rule 233A(4) conduct of Business In Lok Sabha, for the unethical act of hate speech against Hindu's, Shri A.Raja should be refrain from contesting any elections in future.”

The controversy started after DMK MP Raja while addressing a meet organised by Dravidar Kazhagam said, "You're a Shudra till you're a Hindu. You're a prostitute's son till you remain as a Shudra and you're a Panchaman (Dalit) till you're a Hindu. You're are an untouchable till you remain a Hindu."

On September 14, BJP said that the comment by A Raja could result in communal violence. Earlier, BJP state vice-president Karu Nagaraj gave a complaint to the police in which he alleged that Raja made the statements in order to destroy the religious beliefs of Hindus.


Meanwhile, shops downed their shutters in the Nilgiris, the parliamentary constituency of A Raja, for his recent remark. The police patrol was also stepped up in public places and private buses did not ply in the region.
