Tamil Nadu BJP chief Annamalai criticised DMK MP A Raja for his remark 'Hindu religion is a menace' in a video shared by the BJP leader on Tuesday. Annamalai accused DMK of being the principal reason for creating a divide on the basis of caste and inculcating hatred in Tamil Nadu. He also lashed out at the 'audacity' to blame Sanatan Dharma for the alleged mess created by DMK.

In a video shared by Annamalai, DMK MP Raja said, "India is the reason for global disease in the name of caste and dividing people on the caste line and dividing people on economic line by using caste. Caste cannot be used only for social evils but it depends on economic reasons also. Indians in other countries also propagate caste in the name of Hindu religion."

So, the Hindu religion is not only a menace to India but the entire world, he said, as per the video.

Sharing the video, Annamalai said, "DMK MP A Raja calls Hindu Religion a menace to India & the world. DMK is the principal reason for creating caste divide & hatred in TN, and the DMK MP has the audacity to blame Sanatana Dharma for the mess they made."

Earlier, A Raja ran into a controversy after likening 'Sanatan Dharma' to HIV. He said, "Udhayanidhi’s comparison of ‘Sanatana Dharma’ to diseases like malaria and dengue was soft. It should be alluded to HIV and social stigma."
