Chennai: Tamil Nadu police arrested three persons in connection with the case pertaining to the murder and dismembering of a 28-year-old man in Coimbatore. The accused reportedly murdered and cut the corpse into 12 pieces and disposed off at different locations around Coimbatore.


According to a report on Indian Express, the deceased identified as R Prabhu was working at a beauty parlour owned by one of the accused R Kavitha. Some time ago, Kavitha developed an extra-marital relationship with Prabhu. However, Prabhu allegedly blackmailed her with their intimate photographs.

Following this, Kavitha plotted against him with her friends. The accused stabbed Prabhu and chopped his body into 12 pieces and threw them in garbage and sewers. The head of Prabhu was thrown into a well near an accused's grinding company.

It all started on September 15, when Coimbatore Corporation workers identified two severed hands of a man in a blood-stained plastic bag while clearing garbage near Thudiyalur. The workers informed the police who sent the bag to a government hospital. 


The police also formed eight special teams to nab the accused and analyse CCTV footage.

Inspector General of Police (West Zone) R Sudhakar said, while a forensic team was trying to match the severed hand, we found a missing complaint in Kattur police limit on September 14. The man's fingerprint was not available so the police reached his room and collected his water bottle. They tried to match severed hand and the fingerprints in the bottle and they matched. 


The police then found a detailed call record between Kavitha and one Amul Diwakar. They nabbed both of them and the two accused confessed the crime. Another person Karthik who aided their plan was also arrested.
