Chennai: The Seythunganallur police found out that a road accident of a railway employee was a murder where the accused persons ran over the person with an intention to kill him. 


N Senthamaraikannan of KTC Nagar on Palayamkottai outskirts was working as a superintendent in Puthukuddai Railway Station. On January 16, while he was returning home on a two-wheeler, he was hit by a car near Kaalvaai village and was admitted to the hospital, reports The Hindu. However, he died on the same day and the police registered a case based on a complaint from his son S Pradeep, it was further reported.


The police were also probing the angle of the murder but they found collected CCTV footage and found that it was a murder. The accused persons traveling in a car ran over Senthamaraikannan.

The accused were identified as Mahesh of Vallanaadu, Sudalaimani of Kaliyavoor, Jegan Pandian of Moolikkulam, Kandakumar and Marthandam of Pakkapatti.


Mahesh and Sudalaimani were nabbed by the police.


The preliminary investigation with the two accused revealed that Senthamaraikannan had a family property dispute with O Samrat and when he went to Goa along with the accused he died in a road accident on January 4. For this, Senthamaraikannan said that it was 'god's punishment' on social media. Angered by the statement, the accused decided to kill him. 


The police told The Hindu that someone from Samrat's family might have executed the plan. They also said that Samrat had a plan to kill Senthamaraikannan with contract killers but he passed away before that in Goa.
