Weeks after their infant daughter was rescued from a fall on the balcony of their apartment, the mother of the child died by suicide at her paternal home in Karamadai, Coimbatore, on Sunday. Ramya (33), the wife of Venkatesh, leaves behind her husband and two children—a four-year-old boy and a seven-month-old girl. Online shaming is cited as the reason for the techie mom's extreme decision.

Ramya was reportedly also dealing with depression following the incident involving her child. However, the police are still investigating to determine the precise reasons behind her decision.

On April 28, Ramya was playing with her daughter on the fourth-floor balcony of an apartment complex in Thirumullaivoyal when the baby slipped from her hands and fell onto a temporary sunshade, reported DT Next .

The nearby residents quickly responded and rushed to assist her. A man climbed onto the balcony and managed to reach the infant on the sunshade. With the assistance of a few others, they safely brought the baby down to the ground.

In the incident, the baby also sustained injures on her arm and leg.

A video of the incident went viral on social media and Ramya reportedly faced severe shaming for what was perceived as "carelessness" in caring for her child, as reported by The New Indian Express.

Following the incident, it's reported that the couple, along with their two children, relocated to the woman's parents' house in Coimbatore.

Meanwhile, Karamadai police have registered a case and are investigating.
