The Income Tax slueths continued to raid the residence of Padma, sister of former DMK Secretary Vasuki Murugesan, in Karur for the second consecutive day on Saturday. The I-T officials are also present at financier Suresh's office in Gandhipuram and his residence in KVP Nagar, reported ANI. Earlier, the Income Tax official raided the residences and offices of several prominent leaders including Minister EV Velu across Tamil Nadu on Friday. 


According to ANI, Income Tax raids continue at three places in Karur. On the second consecutive day, IT continued searches at the residence of Padma - sister of former DMK secretary Vasuki Murugesan - in Karur. IT officials are also present at financier Suresh's office in Gandhipuram and his residence in KVP Nagar.

On Friday, Income Tax Department conducted searches at 37 locations across Tamil Nadu on premises related to political leaders including Tamil Nadu Minister EV Velu. At 6.30 AM, I-T started searches from Tiruvannamalai and extended it to educational institutions related to the family across the state. 


Following this, many followers of EV Velu gathered in front of his residence and raised slogans in support of the Minister.










In the Tamil Nadu government led by MK Stalin, EV Velu, a senior member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), is in charge of the Public Works portfolio.










Meanwhile, TN BJP President Annamalai while commenting on IT raids at premises linked to state minister Velu said that there was "no vendetta politics" involved in the action.
