Members of the opposition AIADMK in the Tamil Nadu Assembly were suspended for a day on Tuesday after allegedly creating a ruckus during Question Hour by attempting to raise the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy.
On Tuesday, AIADMK legislators donned black shirts in the Assembly, continuing their gesture of condemning the recent hooch tragedy, a practice which started at the beginning of last week's Assembly session.
Later, AIADMK workers raised slogans outside Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in Chennai over Kallakaruchi hooch tragedy.

Tamil Nadu Assembly Adopts Resolution
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reminded the Assembly that the issue had already been extensively debated. He recounted the government's actions in response to the tragedy, which has claimed 58 lives so far. Stalin accused the AIADMK of engaging in "planned activities" out of frustration over the DMK-led alliance's sweeping victory in the recent elections, where they secured all 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and the lone Puducherry segment.
Despite Stalin's reminder, AIADMK members persisted in raising the issue at the start of the proceedings, prompting Speaker M. Appavu to order their eviction from the House, as per a report on PTI.
Following the eviction, Municipal Administration Minister K.N. Nehru introduced a resolution to suspend the disruptive AIADMK members for the remainder of the session. However, after Stalin's intervention, the suspension was reduced to one day.
The House adopted the revised resolution unanimously. Speaker Appavu stated that the AIADMK members who had impeded the proceedings by raising slogans were suspended "only for today" from attending the House.
