The AIADMK called for the release of a white paper detailing the foreign investment secured during the 32 months since the DMK assumed power. Additionally, the AIADMK requested clarification on the absence of a detailed statement regarding the goal of transforming Tamil Nadu into a one trillion-dollar economy by 2023.

"I have repeatedly insisted in the assembly and the media that the government should present a white paper on how many companies approached the government to start factories as per the memorandum of understanding signed with the state government," Palaniswami said in a statement, as per a report on PTI.

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami raised concerns regarding Chief Minister M K Stalin's overseas visits to the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and Spain, questioning the total investment pledged by foreign firms during the 32 months of DMK governance and the actualization of these commitments into projects.

Highlighting the efforts made by the previous AIADMK administration, Palaniswami underscored the initiatives taken to attract global investors, resulting in Tamil Nadu emerging as the second-largest economy in India after Maharashtra. He emphasized the state's significant contribution of 8.47 percent to the GDP and its status as the most industrialized state in the country.

Palaniswami also cited his administration's achievements in attracting industrial investments, even amidst the pandemic, attributing this success to his accessibility and the implementation of a single-window system. He noted the establishment of a high-level committee under his leadership to promptly address investor grievances.

In contrast, Palaniswami criticized the efficiency of the panel formed by the DMK government, stating that bureaucratic hurdles hindered the resolution of investor issues.

Questioning the timing of Stalin's trip to Spain shortly after organizing the Global Investors Meet, Palaniswami raised doubts about the rationale behind the decision.
