Chennai: Tamil Nadu Assembly on Saturday adopted the resolution urging the Centre to withdraw the three agriculture related legislation, through voice vote after CM Stalin moved a resolution in state assembly opposing the three farm laws proposed by the Central government last year.


After this move by the chief minister, BJP MLAs walkout from the Tamil Nadu assembly as the state government moved against Centre's farm laws.

Eversince the farm laws were enacted, DMK government has opposed it and after they coming to power in Tamil Nadu, CM Stalin asserted that there would be a resolution passed against the agricultre-related legislations. The chief minister earlier said that, if these laws are against the insterest of farmers, they would oppose the Centre-proposed laws.


Earlier, the state government has also said that they would pass a resolution against CAA as it is against the interest of minorities across the country. This would also lead to sense of fear in the minorities living in Tamil Nadu, claimed Stalin in the first session.


According to a report in Times of India, the state government has ordered the withdrawal of cases filed previous AIADMK regime against people and media houses who protested against CAA and farm laws in a democratic manner.
