Fifteen passengers sustained injuries after an omnibus overturned near Ulundurpet in Kallakurichi district on Saturday. The overturned vehicle was lifted with the assistance of a crane, and the Edaikkal Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.














According to ANI, around 15 passengers were injured when an omnibus overturned near Ulundurpet in Kallakurichi district. The overturned Omnibus was rescued with the help of a crane and the Edaikkal Police are investigating the matter.

The Omnibus from Nagercoil was traveling towards Chennai on Saturday. While crossing Ullundupet on the Trichy-Chennai National Highway, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and hit the newly constructed bridge. In the impact, the bus overturned and met with an accident. 


In Kerala, an accident was reported on early Saturday as a tourist bus veered out of control and overturned, leaving one person dead and 13 others wounded, according to the police. The accident reportedly took place as the bus was en route from Thiruvananthapuram to Udupi in neighboring Karnataka.


"The driver might have dozed off at the wheel. It was a slope and the bus went down after losing control," a police officer said.


The deceased man got trapped beneath the vehicle and his life could not be saved though he was rushed to a nearby hospital, they added, according to a report on PTI.














Last year, a road accident near Government Medical College and Hospital in Kallakurichi led to the tragic death of two women, both temporary staff at the hospital.
