On the concluding day of the Global Investors Meet in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Minister for Industries TRB Rajaa said, CM Stalin will lead a high-level delegation to Spain to attract foreign investments later this month. The CM apart from Europe is also set to fly to US and Australia this year to attract investment in the state. Speaking at the concluding session of the two-day Global Investors Meet 2024, Rajaa announced that a visit to Spain is scheduled for later this month.


On Monday, Minister for Industries TRB Rajaa said, besides Europe, Stalin would also travel to the US and Australia later this year to showcase the southern state as an attractive investment destination.


Stalin embarked on similar overseas journeys, including his first visit to the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and Japan, shortly after taking office in May 2021.


In his speech, Stalin referred to his trip abroad and said, "I undertook visits to the UAE, Singapore and Japan and these visits translated to Rs 7,441 crore investments and 17,371 employment opportunities." The maiden edition of the Global Investors Meet organised by the DMK government saw investment commitments to the tune of Rs 6.64 lakh crore from several multi-national companies that would generate 26.90 lakh jobs in the state.


After he visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi, he announced that the state government successfully secured agreements worth Rs 6,100 crore with prominent investors. He said that the agreements were anticipated to open up job opportunities for 14,700 individuals within the state.


On his visit to Singapore and Japan, Stalin earlier mentioned that his visits to the two countries resulted in the signing of agreements for Rs 3,000 crore in investments. The majority of the companies conveyed their readiness to participate in the Global Investors Meet scheduled to take place in Chennai in January 2024.
