Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin was discharged from Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Tuesday. The CM was admitted for a routine medical checkup on Monday.
In a release from Apollo Hospitals, R Venkatasalam, Director of Medical Services said, "The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru M.K.Stalin has been admitted to Apollo Hospitals. Greams Road, Chennai today for routine Health Check-up. He will be discharged from Hospital tomorrow (Tuesday)."
Some of the reports alleged that Stalin underwent endoscopy at the hospital. However, there is no official confirmation in this regard.
Before his admission, Stalin took part in a review meeting on the status of road and bridge works. During the meet, he reportedly felt unwell and post the event he was admitted to the hospital at noon.
Stalin also spoke to NCP chief Sharad Pawar and expressed his solidarity as their is an ongoing rebellion by Pawar's nephew Ajit. Stalin assured Sharad Pawar that the DMK would support him.
On Monday, Ajit Pawar sprung a surprise on the Maha Vikas Aghadi after he reached Raj Bhavan to take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar said that he was unaware of his nephew's plan and asserted that MLAs may leave NCP, but the party command remained with him.
In May, Stalin was among the leaders who appealed to Sharad Pawar, when he said that he would step down as NCP chief, to reconsider his decision. Stalin said that the veteran leader's heft would be required to forge a secular alliance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Eventually, Sharad Pawar withdrew his decision to resign from his position as national president of NCP in deference to the sentiments of party workers and leaders.
