In a veiled attack, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi said that India successfully hosted the G20 Summit under the theme "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (One Earth, One Family, One Future) and got the world to celebrate 'Sanatan' like never before. He said Sanatan will remain “indestructible”. The Governor made the statement after TN Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin likened Sanatan to "mosquitoes, dengue, malaria, fever and coronavirus" and said that it should not only be opposed but rather eradicated.
On Wednesday, Ravi said that the world celebrated 'Sanatana Utsava' on September 9 and 10 in New Delhi as India hosted the G20 Summit.
"This is because of the G20 Summit under Bharat's presidency was done with full commitment to Sanatana values, Sanatana Dharma, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam..Today, the world has begun celebrating Sanatana Dharma," he said.
The Governor alleged that some people were distorting the beliefs around Sanatan by making all sorts of negative remarks and they were doing so due to their selfish interests. "They disregard the value of Sanatan but Sanatan is indestructible," he said, as per ANI.
RN Ravi stressed that the core strength of Bharat remained in Sanatan but certain anti-national elements were attempting to strike the very core of the country.
Further, he said that everyone should be awake and alert to their responsibilities. He said that everyone should realise that anyone who speaks about eradicating Sanatan or causing any harm to it is peddling an agenda to break the country.
He alleged that the Britishers tried to do it and succeeded in breaking Bharat through partition.
"Bharat cannot afford another partition," he said.
Earlier, Udhayanidhi triggered a massive row with his remarks. Many condemned the statement while Ayodhya Seer fixed a bounty for the DMK leader's head.
