Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi had a "purposeful meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah In Delhi on Saturday. Taking to social media, Raj Bhavan said that Governor Ravi had a purposeful meeting with the Minister. RN Ravi met Amit Shah amid the clash between “Governor Vs Government” in the state.

Governor Ravi and DMK government has locked horns in the state multiple times.





However, the clash intensified recently over Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji continuing as a Minister in the state cabinet. Governor RN Ravi dismissed Minister Senthil Balaji from the Council of Ministers but he quickly decided to keep it in abeyance on the persuasion of the Union Home Minister.

In a letter, Governor RN Ravi on Thursday said, "You may refer to my D.O. Letter No.0013/RBTN/2023 of today (29.06.2023) regarding the status of Thiru V. Senthil Balaji. In this regard, I have been advised by the Hon'ble Union Minister of Home Affairs that it would be prudent to seek the opinion of the Attorney General also. Accordingly, I am approaching the Attorney General for his opinion. Meanwhile, the order of dismissal of the minister Thiru V.Senthil Balaji may be kept in abeyance until further communication from me."


The DMK, however, said that Senthil Balaji would continue as a Minister. The issue cropped up after Minister Senthil Balaji was arrested by ED in a cash-for-job scam. 


Further, the DMK government has also been insisting Ravi for sanction to prosecute ex-AIADMK ministers for alleged corruption, as a report on PTI.


Earlier, there was a rift between the two parties after the Governor refused to give a nod to the anti-NEET bill.
