Union Minister of Textiles Piyush Goyal said Tamil Nadu will be at the forefront when India regains its lost glory in the textile sector. The Minister also expressed his pride at how resilient and productive our textile industry has remained. On Thursday, Piyush Goyal addressing reporters in Tamil Nadu said, "The world is going through challenging times. The US, Europe and all the developed nations are facing depression and recession. Even China has seen a fall in their economic activity."


"In this situation, I am very proud that our textile industry continues to hold firm, continues to do good work and I have no doubt in my mind that in the future also we will regain the lost glory of India, the lost glory of textile sector of India and Tamil Nadu will be in the forefront of it," the Minister said.

Piyush Goyal accused the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu of dividing people on the issue of language and misleading them. He said that the people of the state would back PM Modi and throw away the "corrupt DMK". 


To anti-Hindi allusion of the Dravidian party, the Minister for Commerce and Industry claimed that the DMK used every opportunity to divide people along linguistic lines and added that this Dravidian party was "misleading the people on different occasions." However, he told reporters that "the people of Tamil Nadu will stand together to uproot the corrupt state government."
