Chennai: An 18-year-old youth, who aspired to become a doctor, ended his life on Wednesday reportedly because he was scared he might fail the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET). Murali Krishna's suicide note said he took the extreme step since he was finding it difficult to score marks in NEET, according to reports.
Murali finished his schooling last year and attempted NEET, but was able to score only 160 marks in the medical entrance test, a report in India Today said.
He had started preparations for NEET again, but was stressed as he feared he would not be able to score the required marks, the report said.
Murali took the extreme step on Wednesday, when he was alone at home. His mother found him dead after returning home.

The Hosur Sipcot police have sent the body for an autopsy.
The police claimed that they recovered a suicide note. "I'm finding NEET very difficult and I can't score the required marks. I tried my best but I cant score the marks required for medical seat. So please forgive me for making the decision. I'll miss you very much ma," the note read, according to the police.

Murali Krishna's suicide is the second death of a NEET aspirant in Tamil Nadu in a week. On Friday, a medical aspirant Dhanush died by suicide. He had also already attempted NEET in 2021 but could not clear the exam.
