Chennai: Tamil Nadu CM and DMK president MK Stalin turned 70 on Wednesday. His party members and political leaders from all over the country cutting across party lines too wished the CM. 


DMK chief cut a cake and visited the memorials of former CMs Karunanidhi and Anna and also paid respects at the memorial of reformist EV Ramasamy Periyar. He also met his mother at her residence in Gopalapuram and sought her blessings. The DMK cadre also took to celebrating his birthday by taking on a Twitter trend with #HBDMKStalin70 and wished the leader by meeting him in person at Anna Arivalayam.


PM Modi wished TN CM Stalin and prayed for his long life. The PM said, "Birthday greetings to Tamil Nadu CM Thiru @mkstalin Ji. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life."






Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said, "Wishing a very happy birthday to the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, @mkstalin ji. May the year ahead be full of happiness, good health and success!"






MNM chief Kamal Haasan said, "To the first of the chief ministers and the destroyer of the dreams of the oppressors of Tamil Nadu, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and chief of DMK, I wish long life to my friend and Thalapathy MK Stalin on this birthday."

Later in the evening, the party has organised a grand 70th birthday celebration for MK Stalin. The party members have also invited Congress Leader of Opposition Mallikarjuna Kharge, former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav to grace the event.
