Chennai: "Education is the only way to uplift the downtrodden," these are not just words regularly repeated in Kollywood movies but these are words by which real-life heroes go by to ensure that everyone gets access to education in the country. One such real-life hero who is working towards the education of tribal children and the underprivileged in Tamil Nadu is Arunbalaji from Pollachi, running Nalvazhikatti trust.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, the Nalvazhikatti trust was started by Pollachi Arunbalaji, an IT employee, to provide education for the underprivileged in 2007.
Through the trust with 110 volunteers, Arunbalaji is currently extending help to students from 36 tribal communities across the state. With the help of the trust, 67 students have completed higher education and more than 1,000 students are regularly receiving help for education.

Arunbalaji is also conducting evening schools for tribal children to help cope with school syllabus and to provide technical education.
Talking to ABP Nadu, Arunbalaji said, "I always wanted to do something good for the society with my earnings and with the help of my friends I envisioned and started Nalvazhikatti trust."
Further, Arunbalaji said that his contact with professor Kalyani, VP Gunasekaran and other activists working for the welfare of the tribal people drove him to pay more attention towards the education of the tribal population.
He said that through the trust they are not only helping with the education of the underprivileged children but also trying to curb dropout rates in the region by extending all possible financial help.
