Before developing a health issue, D Raja strongly voiced out against the violence witnessed in Manipur. Raja said, "BJP speaks highly of the double-engine governments across the country however the same double-engine government is responsible for the violence in Manipur."

There was doubt on BJP aligning with the corporate sector to plunder the natural resources of Manipur, he said adding, hence BJP instigated the violence.

While talking to media persons, Raja said, "There are apprehensions that the corporate sector is being planned to plunder the natural resources of Manipur and the name of Gautam Adani is also surfacing in these allegations."

In Manipur, Raja claimed that the violence was against humanity and that the double-engine administration was to blame.

He claimed that the Manipur crime, in which women were displayed naked and assaulted, was never denounced by the Prime Minister.  The CPI leader claimed that the Prime Minister made general remarks regarding the state of law and order in Manipur. Raja said that the motto of opposition parties in the country was ‘BJP hatao, Desh Bachao’.
