A 24-year-old man died after questioning by police in Chennai on Thursday. The man was picked up by MGR Nagar police in connection with a burglary case. He died within a few hours after being let out by the police.  The deceased was identified as M Sridhar who was a history-sheeter. Sridhar reportedly had nine cases pending against him. 


According to The New Indian Express, a senior official said that Sridhar went home after questioning but later started complaining of discomfort and chest pain. Sridhar’s wife reportedly rushed him to the ESI Hospital. However, the doctors gave him medicines and sent him home. 


He reportedly once again complained of chest pain. Following this, his family members took him to the hospital but he was declared dead. 


However, police also said that Sridhar had other health issues and died after choking on food, as per Times of India. 


They said that Sridhar told doctors that he had no food but only liquor for two days. As a result, they said that the doctors advised him to take medicine to treat gas. However, he complained of uneasiness again and died on the way to the hospital.


Meanwhile, on April 18, 2022, Vignesh who was picked up by the police along with his aide for allegedly possessing ganja died within hours after questioning. 


Vignesh was picked up by the police at midnight and by the next day his health condition worsened in the lockup and he died within a few hours.


The autopsy report of Vignesh, who died in the custody of G5 Secretariat Colony police, revealed that the victim suffered from a fracture and multiple bruises before the time of his death. The autopsy revealed details contrary to the claim of police regarding the death of the suspect.
