Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president MK Stalin hit out at the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) stating that the party is not only “harassing the opposition ruling states but also the ruling party by using governors”.
While addressing a gathering in Puducherry, Stalin said, "CM N Rangasamy is acting like the puppet of the Centre which does not give statehood”. He further added that in the manifesto of Congress and DMK statehood has been promised after I.N.D.I.A bloc’s victory on June 4.
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Stalin added that he had a special affection for the people of Puducherry. “DMK and Congress are working for the betterment of the people of Puducherry. BJP is trying to block the progress of Puducherry. Congress candidate from Vaithilingam needs no introduction, he should win with a bigger margin than the last election”, the CM said.

This comes after Tamil Nadu minister and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin’s roadshow in Puducherry’s Villianur during which he said that hit out at BJP saying Puducherry has been directly affected by the party's schemes.
Emphasising the importance of winning seats in Puducherry, he said, "A victory for the alliance in Puducherry will fulfil our target of 40 to 40 in the Lok Sabha elections. Therefore, we supported Annan V. Vaidyalingam, who is contesting in the Puduvai constituency on our behalf."
In a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that they will defeat the fascists who are trying to run a shadow government with the help of sitting people in appointed positions and restore democracy.
