New Delhi: Animal rescue videos are something that brings smiles to people's faces after the animal is rescued as the difficulties faced by them can be seen in those videos. One such rescue was done by the Indian Coast Guards On Monday when they cut loose the net in which an endangered species, an Olive Ridley Sea Turtle, was entangled.


When the coast guards saw the turtle it was entangled in nets and was struggling hard to move in the sea, according to a report. Olive Ridley Sea Turtles are one of the endangered species, as per Schedule I of the Indian Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

Earlier in February, Chennai Customs officials while on their sea patrolling duty have rescued a turtle tangled in fishing nets. The video has gone viral on the microblogging site Twitter and several officers have reshared it and expressed their pleasure to see endangered species being rescued.


Earlier in November 2021, a wounded rare Leatherback turtle was rescued by fishermen, who were fishing near Kovalam on the outskirts of Chennai. The humungous water animal weighed approximately 600 kgs and the fishers had to struggle hard to rescue the Leatherback turtle, said an India Today report.
