On Monday, S Selvaganapathy was declared as the lone Rajya Sabha member unopposed from Puducherry.

Selvaganapathy was with the RSS in his initial days and he also served as one of the three MLAs nominated by BJP during 14th Puducherry Legislative Assembly.

The EC accepted the nomination of Selvaganapathy and rejected five other nominations during scrutiny, said a report on NDTV. Selvaganapathy is the 10th RS member from Puducherry and he filed the nominations with the support of NR Congress. The BJP got RS post from Puducherry after continual efforts to make a mark in the Union Territory.
