Chennai: A 47-year-old firewood cutter from Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi district filed a complaint with Soorangudi police station alleging that four men and doctors of Government Primary Health Centre at Sayalkudi in Ramanathapuram forcefully made him undergo vasectomy. Vasectomy is a surgical procedure for permanent contraception among men.
Muthuserman of Sinthamani Nagar on Monday gave a complaint to police against four persons identified as Soorvalli, Muniasamy, Kasilingam and Selvaraj, reports IANS. However, on February 25, they took him to Sayalkudi PHC in Ramanathapuram district and forced him to undergo vasectomy.

On the other hand, many people visit Sayilkudi PHC since it has been awarded as the best performing PHC in the state. Yet some people lure alcoholics and illiterates into performing the procedure for money, said the report.
Talking to IANS, Soorangudi Police Station house officer said that the probe is on.
