Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai on Saturday criticized the DMK and claimed that Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan was removed as the finance minister and given another portfolio after he gave a 'certificate' against DMK Ministers in DMK Files Part 1. The statement of PTR comes after the release of DMK Files Part 2.
According to ANI, “Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai says, "We have released DMK Files Part 1, close to Rs 1,30,000 crores of 7-8 peoples loot, against Udhayanidhi Stalin and MK Stalin’s son-in-law Sabareesan.”
“As a sitting Finance Minister PTR gave a certificate that this family amassed Rs 30,000 crores which former state minister M. Karunanidhi Karunanithi couldn't amassed...They removed the finance minister and gave him another portfolio," it said.
On Wednesday, Tamil Nadu BJP chief Annamalai submitted DMK Files 2.0 alleging three scams by DMK Ministers, MLAs, MPs and their first family members. The BJP members alleged that the DMK has contributed to a scam of Rs 5,600 crore. The BJP members submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Governor seeking action.
An alleged corruption file against DMK leaders, including CM Stalin, was previously made public by IPS officer-turned-politician Annamalai in April under the moniker "DMK Files 1." More of these files would be revealed, he had promised.
After the release of the "DMK files" in April 2023, which alleged corruption by the DMK and DMK-led government, a lawyer acting on behalf of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin filed a defamation lawsuit against TN BJP leader Annamalai.
