Chennai: Cyclone Mandous wreaked havoc in parts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai due to the impact of Cyclone Mandous on Friday night. Cyclone Mandous which has been giving heavy rainfall since Thursday made landfall in Mahabalipuram on Friday.
According to ANI, “#CycloneMandous aftermath | A wall collapsed in T Nagar area of Chennai and caused serious damage to three cars that were parked near it. Nobody was present in the cars at the time of the incident.”
The heavy rainfall with winds has damaged thatched houses and resulted in wall collapse in some parts of the state. The powerlines have been uprooted in Chennai, especially near Mahabalipuram where the cyclone made its landfall.
Waterlogging has been experienced in arterial roads and residential areas. It has also led to the inundation of homes in low-lying areas.

ANI said, "#CycloneMandous | A large tree uprooted in Nungambakkam area of Chennai due to strong winds. Visuals from 4th Lane Nungambakkam High Road."
There is also waterlogging in the area.
* The Vandalur zoo is set to remain shut due to the damages caused by Cyclone Mandous.
* Power cuts have been reported in many parts of South Chennai and Tambaram since the cyclone uprooted electricity poles in the city.
