VCK founder Thol Thirumavalavan condemned Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Annamalai for his recent statement on corruption and said that the saffron-party leader was defaming former CM Jayalalithaa and the land of Tamil Nadu with his remark. Thirumavalavan said that it was crystal clear that all states ruled by BJP were more corrupt.

VCK founder Thirumavalavan said, "BJP leader Annamalai criticised his ally AIADMK that former TN CM and ex-AIADMK general secretary has been convicted for corruption. This is true but this is not the way of approach with an allied party. He is defaming former CM Jayalalithaa as well as Tamil Nadu.”

“Annamalai said that Tamil Nadu is one of the most corrupt states. I seriously condemn this statement of Annamalai," he said.

Thirumavalavan said that there was no law and order in BJP-ruled states and even corruption was more in those states. He said, "In northern states, particularly BJP-ruled states, we can see there is no law & order or proper implementation of the law. It is crystal clear that all states which are ruled by BJP are also more corrupt. But he is defaming our Tamil land intentionally. I once again condemn this statement of Annamalai."

Earlier, Annamalai without naming any party or leader had said that Tamil Nadu was one of the most corrupt states in which even former CMs have been convicted. In 2017, SC found Jayalalithaa among others guilty in a disproportionate assets case while she served as the CM during 1991-96.
