The accused was identified as Mohammed Idris of GM Nagar near Ukkadam in Coimbatore, said a report in The Hindu. Mohammed Idris was a close friend of Jameesha Mubin.
Jameesha Mubin, who died in the car blast, was the mastermind of the mishap in the temple at Kottaimedu.
After the death of Jamesha Mubin, NIA arrested five of his accomplices in connection with the blast. They alleged that Mubin and his friends planned major blasts in south India.
The conspiracy reportedly came to light after CCTV footage showed Mubin and three of his companions were moving two gas cylinders and some explosives inside the car in which the accident took place the night before the mishap. The CCTV footage then became crucial evidence that Mubin was actually preparing to carry out a suicide bombing.
Earlier, Opposition accussedd that the state government was not bringing the full details of the car blast.
