In this backdrop, on November 16, Nagaraj suffered from chest pain and he told his wife that he may die soon but he requested her to bury him alive with the 'little' life. He also said that the act will help him turn immortal.

The wife, Lakshmi, agreed to his demand, and the next day she called two people to dig a pit. She also claimed that the pit was to construct a water tank.

On November 17, Lakshmi buried Nagaraj in a seated position while he was reportedly unconscious, the report said.

On Friday, the daughter of the couple Thamizharasi, a techie, returned from her trip and she was shocked to find out that her father was missing while her mother was mum about the incident. She continuously quizzed her mother who finally accepted that she buried her husband.

The daughter immediately gave a complaint to Perumbakkam police and exhumed the body for post-mortem. The police, however, said that only based on the post-mortem report it can be found if Nagaraj was alive or dead during the time of burial.
